In the beginning of December 2021 my personal instagram account @theshaydatorabi was deactivated from instagram. This was my first time going through a deactivation on a social media platform and to be honest, came abruptly without prior immediate flagging or warning. As a cannabis marketing professional I’ve heard and been warned about the potential inevitability of being censored, shadow banned, and ultimately deactivated…but nevertheless, didn’t let it deter me from continuing to post content. This episode dives into a little but about my personal content creation journey, and how I handled the deactivation to get my account back up and running within 4 days. Unfortunately there isn’t a list of specifics for what you can do to avoid this, but in this conversation I share what you can do to be warned, prepared, and ultimately what to do if you or someone you know is deactivated on instagram to get your account back up and running.
